Police identify woman shot to death inside of car

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

A woman is dead and a young child hospitalized after a shooting on U.S. Route 68 in Brown County yesterday.

Police have identified 22-year-old Brittany Stykes as the deceased and 14-month-old Aubrey Stykes as her daughter. An investigation shows that Stykes was pregnant at the time of her death.

Brown County Deputies were called to investigate a caller's report of a vehicle off the roadway on Thursday morning.

When they arrived, officers say they found Stykes who was dead from gunshot wounds and her daughter with a head wound.

The toddler, whose condition is unknown, is currently undergoing treatment at Children's Hospital. 

The woman's death is being treated as a homicide and is currently under investigation.
