CPD: TN trucker in sticky situation after I-74 crash

Semi full of sour slips on 74

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Officers say a TN truck driver will face OVI charges for a rollover crash on I-74 Thursday morning.

Police were called to the 17.2 mile marker of I-74, just west of Montana Road, to investigate a semi that had rolled over.

Officers arrived to find the driver, Wayne Chappelle, 59, of Knoxville, Tennessee, stuck in the truck.

Cincinnati cops say Chappelle lost control of his rig, ran off the left side of the road, striking a guardrail and spilling his load, hundreds of 12 packs of Minute Maid lemonade.

Cincinnati fire had to cut him from the vehicle. Chappelle was taken to the hospital for his minor injuries. He is listed in stable condition.

Once he's out of the hospital, officers say that Chappelle will face charges of failing to control his vehicle, along with four additional OVI charges.

Early in the afternoon, crews were about to partially open the highway to traffic but they had a big clean up on their hands because the truck was full of canned lemonade.

The interstate wasn't all the way back open until after 2:00.
