We're waking up to strong storms across the tri-state, and there's more to come in the afternoon.
A hot, humid and unstable airmass will remain in place on Saturday bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms to the tri-state through the early evening hours.
Tonight skies will remain mostly cloudy and temperatures muggy in the low 70s.
Another round of rain will push through early Sunday morning, and scattered activity through the afternoon. Right now it looks like the bulk of precipitation will occur through the morning and again in the afternoon, leading up to the fireworks.
By 9 p.m., we'll see only a slight chance of a thunderstorm. A few storms will linger on Labor Day Monday, but should clear out by the afternoon with cooler, drier air moving in for next week!
