Rubber Duck Regatta swims into Cincinnati

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

As many as 200,000 rubber ducks will swim in the Ohio River along the Serpentine Wall for the 19th Annual Rubber Duck Regatta.

Thousands will gather along the banks of the Ohio Sunday afternoon at P&G Riverfest prior to the Cincinnati Bell/WEBN Fireworks on the Ohio River.

At 3:00 p.m., as many as 200,000 little rubber duckies will be dumped from the Purple People Bridge into the Ohio River for a duck-eat-duck swim.

The first prize winner will receive a 2013 Honda Civic Sedan LX, courtesy of Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky Honda Dealers, and possibly $1 million if their duck is the "KEMBA Million Dollar Duck."

The second prize winner will receive $100 from Kroger every week for a year and five additional winners will receive $500 cash from KEMBA Credit Union.

Individuals can purchase a duck for $5 each or six for $25. Proceeds from each purchase will benefit the Freestore Foodbank. Every $5 duck will provide 15 meals for hungry kids.

Ducks may be purchased online at www.rubberduckregatta.org or by calling (513) 929-DUCK (3825).
