COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) - Some Covington elementary students displayed their commitment to anti-bullying during the second annual Bullying Prevention Kick-Off Parade on Friday morning.
Students from John G. Carlisle Elementary School carried homemade signs and shouted cheers declaring their school is bully-free.
The parade marched through the streets of Covington as an effort to get students excited about the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program.
The program addresses different types of bullying, including individual instances, in the classroom, school-wide and even within the community. Organizers say it also helps create a culture of acceptance at school so bullying is less likely to happen.
