The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the FOX19 viewing area.
The heat advisory is in effect until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Temperatures are expected to rise as high as 92°, factor in the humidity and it will feel like it's in the upper 90s and even low 100s!
Heat stroke, heat exhaustion and other heat related illnesses will be possible, especially if you spend a significant amount of time outdoors or are involved in any strenuous outdoor activity.
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water.
To reduce risk during outdoor work the occupational safety and health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency...call 911.
