OVER THE RHINE, OH (FOX19) -

A homeless man has been arrested following a reported burglary in Over the Rhine.

Police responded to the 1600 block of Race Street around 1:00 a.m. on Sunday after receiving reports of a burglary at a residence.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the front door of the dwelling had been kicked in. Police say that a flat screen television had been taken.

A search of the area by officers revealed a witness who observed a man with a "red skunk stripe" in his hair running from the home with a television under his arm.

Officers searching the area found a suspect matching the description in the 1200 block of Republic Street with a backpack full of tools and electrical cords.

The suspect was transported to District One police station where he confessed to the burglary.
