A vacant apartment building in University Heights was torn down Thursday a day after its roof collapsed.
The incident was first reported Wednesday in the 2400 block of West McMicken Avenue around 4:30 p.m., located just west of Fairview Park.
Upon arrival, emergency crews found a substantial portion of the roof collapsed on a large, unoccupied three-story brick building.
Emergency responders searched the building, and no one was found to be inside. Residents of an adjacent home and workings a building behind the collapse were evacuated.
No injuries were reported.
Following the collapse, fire officials told FOX19 the city had been wanting to demolish the structure for some time, listed as 'vacant' with the City of Cincinnati.
The entire building was torn down on Thursday.
