DEER PARK, OH (FOX19) - Deer Park Police are warning individuals of a phone scam targeting residents.
Officers received reports from a resident claiming to have received phone calls and voicemails from a man claiming to be a Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputy. Authorities say the caller had an Indian accent and demanded the individual to pay a $500 fine or she would go to jail.
Police say that the caller ID came up as a Hamilton County number, but the caller told to victim to pay the fine to an attorney in Florida.
Authorities have confirmed the call as a scam.
Anyone who receives similar calls is asked to contact police.
