BELLBROOK, OH (FOX19) -

Steelers come to town not only for Monday Night Football, but with money to donate.

Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback and Findlay, Ohio native, has announced that the first grant of the season from The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation and The Giving Back Fund.

The Bellbrook Fire Department, located northeast of Cincinnati, will receive funds that will benefit their four K-9 teams as well as assist in updating the Vectren Bellbrook Fire Department Search and Rescue Canine Agility Site.

Bellbrook Fire Captain Athena Haus states that, "Grant funding will ensure out agility training site continues to be available to enhance training programs of these local and national assets."

As the seventh season of The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation begins, they have stated that they will allocate grants to K-9 units of police and fire departments in the cities surrounding each of their 2013-2014 season away games, Cincinnati being the first on Monday. The Foundation will also be making similar contributions to the city of Pittsburgh, while considering donations to non-market NFL cities for each playoff game, if they get that far.

Roethlisberger has said that "We're very fortunate to be in the position to kelp these K-9 units. The work that is performed by the dogs and their handlers as well as the bond that is formed is incredible. We're just thrilled to do our small part."

His foundation has distributed more than $950,000 to K-9 units across the country since 2007.
