BOONE COUNTY, KY (FOX19) - The Boone County Sheriff's Office is investigating a series of car break-ins and use of stolen credit cards in the area.
Owners of the three vehicles, two from Linnemann's and one at the YMCA, came out to their parked cars and found a window smashed and their purses and other property stolen.
According to Boone County Sheriff's Department spokesman Tom Scheben, the thefts happened between 11:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. at Linnemann's and between 12:15 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. at the YMCA.
Investigators later determined one of the stolen cards was used at J.D.'s Food Mart, the Burlington Kroger and Home Depot in Florence.
Surveillance captured an image of the suspected thief, described as a heavy-set white man in his late 40s or early 50s, approximately 5'10'' to 6' tall with short hair.
He was wearing a red baseball cap, black athletic shorts, white gym shoes and an off-color yellow American Eagle T-shirt. Investigators say he could be driving a small white car with tinted windows.
Anyone with information regarding this suspect is asked to call either the Boone County Sheriff's Office at (859) 334-2175 or Crime Stoppers at (513) 352-3040.
