REI is changing its return policy after some people abused it

(FOX19/CNN) - Some people just couldn't help themselves. REI, the outdoor adventure and sports equipment store, is reportedly changing its return policy after a lot of people abused it, according to the Wall Street Journal.

REI's no-questions-asked return policy was so generous that it led to a joke about the company's name standing for "Return Everything Inc." In fact, some people even bragged online about how they were blatantly ripping-off the company.

REI is still allowing returns. The new policy will reportedly require merchandise to be brought back within one year of purchase. That's not yet mentioned on the store's website. However, it says purchases from REI Outlet must be brought back within 30 days if a customer wishes to return them.
