Suspect flees after Westwood shooting

WESTWOOD, OH (FOX19) -

Authorities are searching for the suspect after a man was shot Thursday evening in Westwood.

It happened just before 9:30 p.m. near the intersection of Glenmore Avenue and Werk Road. According to police, a black 1995 Chevy Cavalier came to a stop next to a blue Chevy Blazer at the intersection.

Police believe the individuals in both vehicles knew each other, and a passenger in the Blazer got out of the vehicle and started fleeing. Authorities say that's when the occupants of the Cavalier fired approximately 3-4 rounds at him. The man was hit once in the left buttocks.

According to police, the victim hit behind a nearby credit union until police arrived at the scene. He was taken to UC Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are now searching for the occupants of the Chevy Cavalier. The suspects were described as a white male, approximately 5'10'' wearing a white tank top, and possibly another white female.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (513) 352-3040.
