FORECAST: Warm today, scattered showers tonight

The work week is off to an unseasonably warm start.  The mercury will soar into the upper 70s by mid to late afternoon today, about 10 degrees above the average high of 67° for the 21st of April.

High and mid-level clouds are already streaming into the Tri-state ahead of the next system.  So, any sunshine from here on out will become increasingly filtered leading to mostly cloudy skies by the evening.

A weak cold front will move across the Tri-State very late tonight and early Tuesday morning.  It will trigger scattered showers and possibly even an isolated thunderstorm.  While a spotty shower is possible this evening, the best chance of rain will come after midnight.

After a lingering shower or two Tuesday morning, we will see increasing sunshine, but cooler, more seasonable temperatures in the upper 60s.
