Power Outages Increase As Jeanne Weakens

Power outages increase as Jeanne weakens

Hurricane Jeanne is weakening as it pushes deeper over Florida. Officials there are just starting to get a glimpse at how much damage the storm has done since making landfall late last night.

Most of Palm Beach County is without power this morning and more than a million customers state-wide don't have electricity due to the hurricane. The storm also ripped parts of roofs off of homes and businesses. Jeanne rushed ashore around Stuart, Florida, with winds at 120 miles per hour. Those winds have since dropped down to near 100 miles per hour making it a Category Two storm. Forecasters say Jeanne will continue to lose strength as it heads up the state and into Georgia and South Carolina.
