Nagel students apply lessons to real-world problems

ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Students at Nagel Middle School met with Anderson Township park officials Wednesday to apply classroom lessons with real world issues.

Park District Executive Director Ken Kushner briefed the students on surface water draining problems around the entrance of the new Juilfs Park Playground.

Students then asked questions, took pictures and studied the topography in hopes of developing a solution.

Organizers say the student proposals will be delivered to the Anderson Township Park District by mid-October.

Chris Preston, a 7th grade science teacher at Nagel, described the project as a great opportunity for students to engage in real world, problem-based learning.
