OTISVILLE, MI (WNEM) -
Employees at a local restaurant are taking matters into their own hands after the owner ran out on the business.
Workers say he still owes them money, but they aren't giving up and will continue to work.
The owner of the Down Home Diner in Otisville told employees that he was shutting down the restaurant on Tuesday morning. He also told them he didn't have the money to pay them for the month he owed.
In an effort to make up for missed pay, employees got together and reopened the restaurant for a few more days. They hope this will help them pay their bills.
Regulars to the restaurant say they will help the employees out. On Friday, the Down Home Diner will have an all-you-can-eat fish fry.
They hope this will be the big finale before the restaurant closes for good.
