LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Two schools camouflaged within Unbridled Learning Assessment data have surpassed even their principals expectations.

Breckinridge-Franklin Elementary and Bullitt Central High School improved significantly.

Bullitt Central earned a proficient designation as it spiked from the bottom 20 percent of high schools into the top 21 percent.

Principal Christy Coulter congratulated students and teachers Friday. "We're all so proud of our students, faculty and parents. To put it simply, we were 48th on the state's report card and went to 61 - which is big. That's the achievement scores wrapped into one," Coulter said.

In Jefferson County Public Schools, Breckinridge-Franklin Elementary made gains across all six subject areas included in the test and passed the state's top 64th percentile. Last year the school was in the 30th percentile.

"We improved in every grade level, in every core content area and that includes the entire student body," Principal Allyson Vitato said.
