Bomb squad finds nothing suspicious

A suspicious package found downtown was determined to be harmless by authorities on Saturday afternoon.

Police were led to 6th and Vine Street after a call detailed that a suspicious backpack was lying unattended on the curb around 3:30 p.m.

The Cincinnati Police and additional units secured the area one block in each direction while the Cincinnati Fire Department Bomb unit used a mobile robot to gain access to the contents of the backpack for a period of two hours.

No dangerous items were found and the streets were reopened.
