COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) - The Kenton County Government Center has reopened following a fire on September 29.
Officials say an electrical malfunction was reported a Sunday afternoon at the Court Street building in Covington, which damaged the main electrical wiring and several major systems inside the building. The phone system is also down.
The extent of the damage is still being assessed. As a result, the government center remained closed for several days.
During that time, all businesses with Kenton County offices, such as the county clerk and sheriff, were conducted at the Independence Courthouse on Madison Pike.
