2 pedestrians struck by cars in Deerfield Twp.

DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Two pedestrians are in the hospital after they were struck by two vehicles in Deerfield Township.

Police say that two women were attempting to walk across Escort Drive at the intersection of Bardes Drive when the accident occurred.

Officers say that Devin Eddy, 18, and Arial Jones, 19, were crossing the street eastbound when they were struck by two southbound vehicles just after 12 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.

Chad Killen, 32, and Patrick Redwine, 25, were both operating Chevrolet Avalanches at the time of the crash.

Police say that both females walked into the intersection just as the light turned green. The women walked out in front of Killen and Redwine and were struck by both vehicles.

Officers say both vehicles immediately stopped.

Jones was transported to Bethesda North Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Eddy was transported to University of Cincinnati Hospital with serious injuries.

Neither Killen nor Redwine sustained injuries.

Authorities say that there was no crosswalk at the intersection. The crash remains under investigation.
