Cincinnati Police say a man has been arrested in connection with the assault and death of a 2-month-old.
Emergency crews were called to the 400 block of W. 9th Street just before 1 a.m. Tuesday for a report of an infant not breathing. The newborn, identified as Tyrelle Key, was taken to Cincinnati Children's Hospital suffering from severe head trauma.
Police say Tyrelle Key later died from his injuries overnight on Wednesday.
According to investigators, his mother's boyfriend, 21-year-old Daniel McClure, was arrested Tuesday shortly after the baby was found unresponsive.
McClure has been charged with felonious assault. Police say further charges are pending following an investigation by the Hamilton County Coroner's Office and Prosecutor's Office.
He was arraigned Wednesday morning and is currently being held on a $1 million bond.
The case will be sent to a grand jury on October 11.
