Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center announced Friday that it will receive a $20 million gift over eight years from the Convalescent Hospital for Children.
The hospital says $11 million of the gift will be used to expand mental health and behavioral services facilities at the College Hill Campus. The hospital says it will renovate the existing facility to refresh overall design and make all rooms private to accommodate one patient per room.
Children's also plans to construct a new three-story unit for residential patients on the site.
The hospital will be using the other $9 million to provide long-term and respite care at the Cincinnati Children's Liberty Township Campus.
The hospital says the gift is expected to fund a substantial portion of the estimated cost of both total cost of both projects.
This is the single largest contribution ever made to the medical center.
