Reward doubled in Brown Co. mom's shooting death

BROWN COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - There is now a $10,000 reward being offered for information on the death of a Brown County mother shot and killed last August.

The family of Brittany Stykes has set up a Community Reward Fund after receiving funding from businesses and individuals. According to the Brown County Sheriff's Office, the amount is now at $5,000 and growing.

This money is in addition to the $5,000 reward currently being offered by Crime Stoppers.

Brown County Deputies were called to investigate a vehicle off the road between S.R. 125 and Laycock Road on US Rt. 68. It was reported August 28 around 7:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found Stykes, 22, and her 14-month-old daughter, Aubree, suffering from gunshot wounds in a yellow Jeep. Brittany Stykes was pronounced dead at the scene, and the toddler was immediately taken to Southwest Regional Medical Center for treatment.

You can read about Aubree's condition on the Stykes Family Fund Facebook page.

Stykes was also 17 weeks pregnant, and her death led to the death of her unborn child, according to the autopsy report.

To date, no arrests have been made in the shooting. Anyone with information on the case should contact the Brown County Sheriff's Office Investigation Unit at (937) 378-4435 or Crime Stoppers at (513) 352-3040.
