BROOKVILLE, IN (FOX19) -

Brookville, IN- Indiana Conservation Officers investigated an incident where a pickup truck slid down a boat ramp into Brookville Reservoir. Mr. Allen Sprunger, of Berne, IN, was unloading his boat from the trailer while his fishing partner Mr. Roy Thorton, also of Berne, IN, was operating a 2008 Chevy pickup truck.

As Mr. Sprunger applied gas the tires kept slipping and the truck slowly slid down the ramp into the lake. The truck finally came to a stop with most of the engine still out of the water. Neither Mr. Sprunger nor Thorton were injured however both were checked out by emergency personnel at the scene.

Conservation Officers want to remind the public that the wet surfaces and possible build up of algae on concrete ramps can cause such incidents. Agencies responding to the incident were Indiana Conservation Officers, Franklin County Sheriff's Department, Brookville Volunteer Fire Department and Franklin County EMS II.
