TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Released by the Tyler Police Department:

At approximately 8:30pm on October 8, 2013, a 60 year old white female was walking to her car at Walmart at 3820 Hwy 64 West.  The female placed her groceries into her vehicle and walked her buggy to a cart return location.  As the female was walking back to her vehicle, she was approached by a suspect who grabbed her purse.  The female refused to let go of her purse and the suspect threw her to the ground, still attempting to take the purse.  A nearby customer heard the victim screaming and ran to assist.  The suspect then fled on foot.

The victim sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment.

The suspect is described as a black male approximately 6'0" tall with an average build.  He is between the ages of 35 and 40.  The suspect was wearing a pink polo shirt and blue jeans.  Store video shows the suspect entering a white vehicle and leaving the scene towards the Hwy 64 exit.  The vehicle may be a Buick LeSabre.
