Stewart to serve time in West Virginia

Martha Stewart is heading for "Camp Cupcake." Stewart will serve her five-month prison term at a West Virginia facility -- not one in Connecticut or Florida, as she had hoped.

The federal Bureau of Prisons has assigned Stewart to the minimum-security women's prison in Alderson, West Virginia. Stewart repeated in a statmement that she had hoped to be at a facility closer to her family and more accessible to her lawyers. But she said she was happy to get a quick assignment.

Stewart is appealing her conviction, but said she would report to prison anyway to get the episode behind her. The Alderson facility is nicknamed Camp Cupcake and is nestled in the rural West Virginia hills. A source says it was picked because of its remote location -- amid fears the facilities Stewart chose were too media-accessible.
