UPDATE: Missing Fairfield man found safe

FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) -

A missing 72-year-old man has been found safe.

The Fairfield Police Department issued a Missing Adult Alert for Robert Duncan Sr. after he left his son's residence on Williams Ave in Norwood on Wednesday around 9:00 p.m.  Officers said he never arrived home in Fairfield, Ohio.

Police said he was last seen in Monroe, Ohio on Thursday at approximately 12:30 a.m. After he was given directions, he still was unable to find his way home.   

Duncan suffers from memory loss.

By Thursday afternoon, authorities said Duncan had returned home safely.

A missing adult alert is Ohio's answer to the Silver Alert system but it has expanded criteria.
