Cincy alone atop AFC North for 1st time since 2009

CINCINNATI (AP) - The Bengals are in a very unaccustomed place six weeks into the season.

Cincinnati is alone atop the AFC North for the first time since the end of the 2009 season, when it won the division. Since then, the Bengals have gone to the playoffs twice as a wild card team, but not as a North champion.

It's all out there for them now.

A 27-24 overtime victory in Buffalo on Sunday left the Bengals (4-2) in good shape at the start of their most challenging stretch of the season. They're playing four of five games on the road, starting with the win over the Bills. They play at Detroit (4-2) on Sunday.
