Man robs hair salon with steak knife, suspect in other Hamilton robberies

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - A 54-year-old man has been arrested for robbing a Hamilton hair salon with a seven-inch steak knife.

Officers were called to Colours Hair Salon, located in the 400 block of No. East Street, around 12:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

Police say that Albert Davis, 54, approached several employees at the salon and demanded money from the register. The victims tell police that Davis brandished a knife, grabbed an employee by her arm and made her open the register and remove the money. Witnesses tell officers that the suspect grabbed the money and fled the scene.

Authorities say that Davis was later arrested during a traffic stop on Brookwood Avenue. As Davis stepped out of the car, officers say they found a seven-inch steak knife in his back pocket. Authorities say they also found a white rock in the suspect's front pocket. The rock tested positive for cocaine.

Davis has been charged with aggravated robbery, drug abuse and carrying a concealed weapon.

Hamilton Police believe that Davis could be the suspect responsible for two other robberies as well. Officers say that Davis is also a suspect in the Family Video robbery on October 16 and the Howell Cleaners robbery on October 17.

The investigation into all three cases is currently under investigation.
