WAYNE TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - State Route 73 in Butler County is closed Tuesday morning after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole.
Butler County Sheriff's deputies were called to a single-vehicle crash around 1 a.m. near the intersection of Wehr Road and S.R. 73 in Wayne Township, close to Edgewood Middle School.
Upon arrival, emergency crews found a vehicle crashed into a utility pole on the south side of S.R. 73. The pole snapped in half leaving power lines extending into the roadway.
Authorities said the male driver was taken to Atrium Medical Center with what appeared to be serious injuries. His identity has not been released.
Duke Energy crews were called to the scene to fix the downed power lines. The S.R. 73 has been closed between Wayne Madison and S.R. 503. The area will be closed for an undetermined amount of time.
The crash remains under investigation by the Butler County Sheriff's Office.
