TURTLECREEK TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - An 18-year-old girl was killed and six other people injured in an accident Thursday evening on Route 63 in Turtlecreek Township.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. near the Lebanon Correctional Institution, located between Lebanon and Monroe.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Kelsie Barger, 18, of Fairfield, was driving a 2005 Hyundai headed east on State Route 63. Troopers say Barger lost control of her vehicle, went left of the center line and collided head-on with an SUV.

Barger was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say everyone in the accident was wearing a seat belt.

Turtlecreek Township crews responded to the scene with assistance from Lebanon and Monroe medics.

The crash remains under investigation.
