(FOX19) - Students and their families gathered at Plains Junior School Saturday morning to rally for the education and future of Lakota Schools
A caravan and rally took place to support the November ballot issue to fund the Lakota Local School district.
Supports gathered at neighborhood schools across the district, traveled through the community in decorated cars and join together for a rally at Plains Junior School.
Committee Chair Libby Williams says, "the goal of the rally is to energize supporters with speakers, music and a call to action."
Participants were encouraged to rake advantage of Saturday Early Voting hours at the Butler County Board of Elections.
Over the past 8 years, many cuts have been made to programs, staff and services. Supporters hope the levy will restore transportation, increase course options, decrease student activity fees and help fund the district's effort to offer critical advanced technologies.
