The Cincinnati Recreation Commission held a groundbreaking ceremony
Tuesday to kick off he renovation of the Clifton Recreation Center.
The remodeled center will be more than 1,000-square-feet larger than the current facility. The renovation will cost approximately $1.7 million and include a new lobby, an elevator and a new staircase between the upper and lower level.
The office will be relocated, and a newly remodeled multi-purpose room will be in place of the existing office. Officials say the restrooms will also be renovated and ADA compliant.
Project architect DNK will join Jostin Construction and work crews to bring the Clifton Recreation Center up to current building codes. Construction is expected to begin early November and will take about 14 months to complete.
Located at 320 McAplin Avenue, the center is located across from Clifton-Fairview German Language School near Clifton's Gaslight District.
