Suspects flee after shooting, robbery near Uptown

CLIFTON HEIGHTS, OH (FOX19) -

Cincinnati Police are investigating a robbery and shooting reported overnight near the University of Cincinnati campus.

It happened on Warner Street near Stratford around 12 a.m. Tuesday. Police say a UC student and a male friend were approached by two suspects. The suspects began a conversation with them before stealing the student's purse and wallet and shooting the male in the abdomen.

The male victim was taken to UC Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, according to UC Police.

Authorities say the suspects were last seen running south on Victor Street and then into some nearby backyards. A search by responding officers was unable to locate the suspects.

The two individuals were described as follows:

Suspect #1: Male, black, 18 to 20-years-old, 5'5" tall, approximately135 lbs. He was wearing a leather Boston Red Sox jacket and blue jeans and was armed with a silver handgun.

Suspect #2; Male, black, 16 to 18-years-old, 5'10" tall, approximately 150 lbs. He was wearing a black vest with orange sleeves, dark jeans and a black hoodie.
