CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Bengals Defensive Tackle Geno Atkins is out for the season with a torn ACL, a team insider tells FOX19 Sports Director Joe Danneman.
Atkins suffered the injury in the second quarter of their 22-20 overtime loss at Miami. He was taken off the field with more than 4:00 to go in the second quarter.
Atkins was moved to the reserve/injured list on Monday morning.
Atkins has been with the Bengals since he was drafted in the fourth round back in 2010.
Atkins last season was a first-team selection on the Associated Press All-Pro team, leading all NFL interior linemen in sacks (12.5). He has played in the last two Pro Bowls.
On September 2, Atkins agreed to a 5 year, $55 million extension with the Cincinnati Bengals.
