CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY (FOX19) -

The Kenton County Animal Shelter hosted an Adopt-a-Day on Saturday, looking for forever homes for cats and dogs.

The Homes for the Holidays event was held Saturday morning at Crestview Hills Town Center. The event was sponsored by the Citizens Bank of Northern Kentucky.

"Shelters are extremely overpopulated; everybody needs to do their part," says Megan Abbatiello, of Citizens Bank. "If you can adopt a dog, come out and adopt one."

The bank sponsored the first five adoptions.

"Today, the bank is sponsoring the first five adoptions. Their shots, spaying and neutering is included in that. You can come to the shelter and adopt one there or you can come here until noon to adopt one today," says Abbatiello.

The animal shelter is located at 1020 Mary Laidley Road in Fort Mitchell.
