CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The trial of a babysitter and former foster parent accused of raping two children in her care more than a decade ago is expected to begin Monday afternoon.

Barbara Brooks, 63, was arrested and charged in June of 2012. According to Hamilton County court documents, the offenses involved four different children she babysat between Jan. 1, 2000 and Feb. 27, 2007.

A Hamilton County Job and Family Services (JFS) spokesperson confirmed Brooks was a foster parent for the county from 1996 until 2008. The spokesperson says JFS decided to stop placing kids in her care in 2008 due to a separate allegation of sexual abuse they were unable to confirm.

Soon after, Brooks voluntarily gave up her foster parent certification.

She has been charged with 15 counts of rape and three counts of gross sexual imposition. She faces the possibility of life in prison if convicted of all charges.

Brooks was originally scheduled to appear in a Hamilton County courtroom at 9 a.m. Monday but the trial was postponed until 1:30 p.m.
