Bengals: Canadian player's contract voided, documentation issues

Posted: Updated:
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

The Bengals were notified by the NFL that DT Christo Bilukidi, who is from Canada, does not have the proper documentation to work in the United States at this time.

The work permit Bilukidi had with the Oakland Raiders, for whom he played earlier this season, will not currently transfer.

Therefore, the contract Bilukidi signed earlier today with Cincinnati has been voided.

When Bilukidi's documentation is properly filed, he will again be eligible to sign with an NFL team.

The team signed Bilukidi earlier on Monday in wake of putting DT Geno Atkins on the Reserve/Injured list. Atkins, in his fourth season with the Bengals, suffered a major knee injury in last week's game in Miami.
