Man, ex-wife dead in apparent murder-suicide

WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19) -

Two people are dead following an apparent murder-suicide early Wednesday morning, according to West Chester Police.

Authorities were called to a home in the 7900 block of Barret Road in West Chester for a domestic-related shooting around 5 a.m.

Upon arrival, authorities learned the ex-husband, Brian Dunn, 34, reportedly shot his former wife, Candi Dunn, 32, in the driveway. She was taken to West Chester Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Police said three children were inside the home at the time, all ages 11 and under. They were not hurt in the incident.

Dunn fled the scene in a red Jeep Cherokee. He was later found dead inside his vehicle on Trustway Court in Mason.

A very large police presence remained at the scene in West Chester as investigators worked to determine exactly what happened.

When asked about domestic-related disputes at the home in West Chester, Police Captain Joel Herzog said, "there had been several over several years."

The three children are now in the care of a relative.
