CVG named nation's second most expensive

(FOX19) -

A new study has named the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport as the nation's second most expensive airport.

According to a report released by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, CVG has been named the second most expensive when it comes to average domestic fares. The report states that in the second quarter of 2013, the average fare was $518.

The report indicated that this quarter's statistics are down from the first quarter.

Fares include only the price paid at the time of the ticket purchase and do not include other fees paid at the airport or onboard the aircraft.

Taking the crown as the most expensive airport is Huntsville, Alabama with an average fare of $547.
