CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Lakota West High School Marching Firebirds raised money today for their upcoming trip to New York City.
Teaming up with Uno Chicago Grill in West Chester, the band's fundraising efforts will go towards travel expenses to New York City to march in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Uno's donated proceeds from their all-you-can-eat buffet to the band on Sunday until 8:30 p.m.
Throughout the event, Uno's customers enjoyed live music performed by Lakota West's drum line, jazz combo and symphonic wind ensemble. Face painting, balloon artists, magicians and even the Lakota West Firebird mascot were also on hand to entertain the diners.
The Marching Firebirds are one of only 13 other marching bands across the nation to be selected to play in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. 270 Lakota West students will be representing their community in the parade on November 28.
