Major changes to I-75 and Hopple Interchange begin today

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - As work on the Interstate 75/Hopple Street interchange continues, a new traffic configuration will take place today.

Beginning at 6:00 a.m., crews will be closing this portion of MLK and installing the appropriate signs, pavement markings, and traffic signals needed to direct traffic around the closure site. The following are points to remember while traveling through the area:

  • Eastbound Hopple Street can access eastbound MLK by following the marked detour south(right) on Central Parkway to an immediate left at the new traffic signal located at Central Parkway and the new connector road.
  • Westbound MLK can access westbound Hopple Street by following the marked detour using the new connector road to north (right) on Central Parkway to an immediate left onto Hopple Street.
  • Southbound 75 cannot be accessed from westbound Hopple Street. Marked detours will be in place directing motorists to eastbound Hopple Street and access to southbound 75.

To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
