Gas line hit on Clough Pike

ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

Part of Clough Pike is still closed after a gas line was hit earlier Friday morning.

Construction workers hit a high-pressure gas line at Clough Pike and Ivy Pointe around 9:30 Friday morning.

Officials say it is not a safety issue; however, the odor of gas has now spread as far as Summerside Road in the Eastgate area.

Union Township Fire Department and Duke Energy are on-scene addressing the problem and do not expect a resolution for several hours.

The gas leak was stopped in the afternoon but officials say Clough Pike from Ivy Pointe to Mt. Carmel-Tobasco Road will be closed until repairs are complete. Officials estimate it will last into the evening hours.
