A pregnant Evansville mother a her three kids are recovering after a fire destroyed their new home along with everything inside.

Officials told 14 News the first was set intentionally.

Kelsie Hill spent a week moving into her new home on S. Weinbach. It was the family's first night in the new home and when she opened the door, she said she fell to her knees.

The home was completely charred. What was not destroyed by the fire was damaged by heat and smoke.

According to fire officials, the suspect disabled the smoke detectors before setting the fire.

The fire smothered itself out because the door and windows were sealed air tight.

"I worked so hard, being such a young mom. I do have three children and one on the way and everything I've worked for is in that house," said Hill. "It's all gone. It's basically like we're starting over. It is a new beginning as I look at it. Which I try to stay positive about, but I'm very upset."

Police said it is an ongoing investigation.

No arrests have been made yet.

If you would like to help Kelsie and her family, an account has been setup at Old National Bank under the name "Kelsie Hill."
