Widow of Bo Hale breaks silence on husband's disappearance

The widow of Bo Hale speaks out to 14 News after the remains of her husband have been found and just days after an arrest in the case. 

Cindy Hale says she's going through a wide range of emotions some three years after her husband disappeared.

Back in June, rain unearthed human remains on Continental Drive. It was later discovered that those remains were that of Bo Hale.

The family has remained quiet through much of the process, but Cindy sat down with 14 News and spoke about the agonizing three years.

"Thankfully an arrest could be made because he just didn't disappear," Cindy said.

Cindy described the immense emotions she felt for those three long years.

"If somebody's sick and dies, you get to watch them at least. When somebody's missing that was coming back, when he left that day he was coming back," Cindy said.

She shared how the family reacted to learning there was an arrest.

"If we were told we won the lottery, it would not even compare to what was told to us that day when an arrest was made," Cindy shared. "I believe Bo was looking down on us that day and smiling."

She says the community of supporters have been overwhelming.

"I pray for you. I've been waiting to meet you, I pray for you every night. Our church prays for you and it is very warming to know," she said of those supporters.

To the main Hopkins County Sheriff detective who worked tirelessly on the case, Cindy said, "I wanted to be sure and thank Scott Troutman for not giving up on us, but not giving up on Bo."

Authorities arrested Craig Davenport last Wednesday in the death of Hale. He's charged with 2nd degree manslaughter, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Persistent Felony Offender.
