Martha Stewart Living in Federal Prison

Homemaking media titan Martha Stewart has reported to Alderson Federal Prison in Alderson, West Virginia. Stewart reported at 6:15a.m., somehow avoiding the gaze of a herd of reporters awaiting her. She had a deadline of 2 p.m. today to arrive.

Stewart decided in August to report to prison quickly to serve a sentence for lying about a stock sale, rather than attempting to stay out of prison while awaiting the outcome of appeals she has filed. In a statement on one of her websites, she said she wanted to "put this nightmare behind me as quickly as possible."

Stewart says her lawyers will continue to pursue her appeals, and that she looks forward to returning to work in March.
