CLERMONT COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - The Clermont County Health Department is alerting parents to a rise in whooping cough cases this season.
The infection spreads easily by coughing or sneezing. Area school systems are asking parents to keep their kids with the cough at home until they see a doctor.
The initial symptoms of whooping cough are very similar to the common cold with sneezing, low-grade fever and a cough.
The more serious symptoms begin after two weeks and include rapid cough followed by a crowing or high pitched whoop sound.
