HEBRON, KY (FOX19) - A larger number of travelers are expected to pass through the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) this holiday season.
Thanksgiving travel season begins Monday through Dec. 2. The busiest travel day is Wednesday when CVG officials anticipate 7,500 to 7,700 travelers, in comparison to the daily average of 6,000 people.
AAA expects more than 43 million Americans to travel at least 50 miles from home for Thanksgiving. To accommodate those numbers, some airlines are doubling their flights during the holiday period.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is encouraging their Pre-Check service, which allows pre-approved passengers to bypass normal screening. Under the expedited service, travelers can leave on their shoes, coat and belt and do not have to take liquids out.
Pre-Check is offered at CVG for American Airlines, Delta, United and US Airways.
