Fountain Square will transform into a bowling alley on Tuesday, complete with pins and frozen turkeys-turned-bowling balls.
The game is simple: bowlers have three chances to knock down the most pins. The winner receives $50 cash, a commemorative trophy and serious bragging rights.
Fountain Square's Turkey Bowl also features a special, kid-friendly bowling lane, complete with a special prize for the winner. Players and families also have a chance to win complimentary tickets to an advance screening of Disney's newest animated movie, Frozen. Livvy Stubenrauch, the voice of "Young Anna" in the film, will be on-site for autographs and photo opportunities.
On-site registration opens at 11:30 a.m. and the competition begins at Noon. In order to play, participants must bring two non-perishable food items or a $5 cash donation to Fountain Square the day of the event.
Suggested food items include canned meat products (tuna, chicken, ham, spaghetti with meatballs, beans, beef stew, etc.), peanut butter, canned vegetables and fruits, canned soups, and boxed macaroni and cheese.
All proceeds benefit the Freestore Foodbank in Over-The-Rhine.
